Principal's Message
Dear FRES Family,
Welcome to Flat Rock Elementary School – the home of the Warriors!
I am so pleased to be your new principal at Flat Rock Elementary. I return to Flat Rock after serving as Assistant Principal (at both Powhatan and Flat Rock Elementary schools) so I feel like I’ve come back home! My own children are graduates of PHS and spent their K-12 school careers here in Powhatan. I look forward to working with our students and their families for the 2022-2023 school year.
Flat Rock begins our fourteenth year of teaching and learning this fall and our staff, new and returning, are excited for the year ahead. Our teachers and staff are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for our students. We believe a strong partnership among teachers, families, and the community is essential for student achievement-everyone plays a vital role in helping students succeed. As is often said “….it takes a village” and that is certainly true!
